Laylines use the 47.7 polar (optimal tacking angle) + wind + tide. "Tack in" is time to the
opposite layline at your current speed. Best glanced by the helmsman; also an overlay on the Replay.
⚠️ Still-water laylines — no tide entered. Enter the tide set & drift above to current-correct them; otherwise a running tide sets the real (over-ground) layline in or out, sometimes by tens of degrees. Wind is a forecast unless you feed live masthead wind.
📡 Light up the fleet
These tools are free — and they get better the more boats are on the map. You’re out on the water anyway: share your track and your fleet appears live for everyone, replays fill in on their own, and you get the live map back. Give-to-get, no charge.
