This screen needs your boat on the network
Instruments here are read straight off your own boat — nothing is stored on the way, and nothing
is shared unless you choose to. For that to work, the boat has to
put its NMEA data onto its Wi-Fi.
Plenty of boats have good instruments that simply never leave the wires.
Already set up? Open this page on the boat’s Wi-Fi — it’ll find
Signal K by itself. Elsewhere on the network, add ?sk=host:3000 to the address.
Not yet? An NMEA-0183 boat can broadcast with a small, cheap
Wi-Fi gateway; NMEA-2000 boats need a gateway into Signal K. Either way it’s a one-off fit and then
it just runs.
What you’d need →
None of this is needed to race with Telltale — your phone already records the track, the replay
and the corrected result. Instruments just add wind, heel and polars on top.
